Welcome to LDR Engines and Gearboxes PTY LTD. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website at https://ldrpretoria.co.za/ and apply to all purchases made from us, including engines, gearboxes, and related components. By using the site or purchasing from us, you agree to the terms below.
1. Services Provided
We supply imported used engines, gearboxes, and related automotive components.
We reserve the right to modify, discontinue, or change any service or offering without prior notice.
2. Use of the Site
You agree not to:
• Violate any applicable laws
• Attempt unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with the site or its servers
• Upload harmful, defamatory, or illegal content
3. Intellectual Property
All content on the site, including text, images, logos, and media, is the property of LDR Engines and Gearboxes PTY LTD.
You may not reproduce or distribute this content without written consent.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login details and for all activity under your account.
5. Orders, Payments & Stock Reservation
5.1 Accuracy of Information
All customer information must be accurate when placing an order.
5.2 Stock Availability
Engines and gearboxes are sold on a first-come, first-served basis unless reserved through:
• A non-refundable holding deposit, or
• A non-refundable 3-month lay-by
5.3 Right to Refuse Orders
We may refuse or cancel any order due to stock errors, payment problems, or fraud concerns.
6. Warranty Terms (Engines & Gearboxes)
6.1 Customer Obligations
To maintain warranty, customers must:
• Use a qualified RMI-registered mechanic
• Install new oil, filters, thermostat, spark plugs, coolant
• Flush radiator and check or replace water pipes, water pump, seals, and gaskets
• Install a new timing belt on all belt-driven engines
• Set timing and valve clearances correctly
• Verify compatibility and application before installation
We hold no liability for damage caused by incorrect installation, wrong part selection, poor maintenance, overheating, or oil leaks.
6.2 Standard Warranty
• 3-month unlimited kilometer warranty on internal engine and gearbox components
• 7-day turbo warranty
• No warranty on accessories, injectors, electronics, sensors, clutches, manifolds, alternators, starters, timing belts, or seals
• No warranty on timing chains
• No warranty on belt-driven engines without a new timing belt installed
• No warranty for oil leaks, overheating, or improper installation
• No warranty on valve stem seals
• Manual gearboxes: 3-month warranty on internal parts only
• Automatic gearboxes: 2-month warranty on internal parts only
• High-performance engines: start-up warranty only
• No warranty on modified engines or vehicles used for modifications
6.3 Warranty Claims
Customers must submit:
• A valid invoice
• Photos or video evidence
• A clear explanation of the issue
No stripping of engines or gearboxes is allowed before reporting a fault. Doing so voids the warranty.
7. Liability Limitations
We are not liable for labour costs, towing or courier fees, downtime, rental vehicles, consequential damages, electrical issues, or failures caused by overheating, incorrect fluids, incorrect timing, or poor installation.
No warranty is provided for valve stem seals.
8. External Links
We are not responsible for the content or practices of third-party websites linked from our site.
9. Termination
We may terminate site access for breach of these terms.
10. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of any changes.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by South African law.
12. Refunds, Deposits & Lay-By Policy
12.1 Non-Refundable Deposits
All deposits are non-refundable. This includes deposits used to hold engines, reserve gearboxes, secure quotes, or initiate lay-by arrangements.
12.2 Holding Deposits (30-Day Rule)
Holding deposits:
• Reserve an engine for 30 days
• Are non-refundable
• Are forfeited if full payment is not completed within 30 days
• Return the engine to open stock after expiry
12.3 3-Month Lay-By Option
Lay-by payments are non-refundable.
The engine is released only after full payment.
If the customer is late on any instalment, including the second instalment:
• The lay-by is cancelled
• All payments are forfeited
• The engine returns to open stock
12.4 Additional Refund Terms
• No refunds without an original invoice
• Courier, delivery, and labour charges are non-refundable
• No cash refunds
• 15% handling fee for correctly supplied goods returned
• 3% handling fee applies to card-payment refunds
• Refunds, where applicable, are processed within 7–14 working days
• A 7-day exchange policy applies for defective engines, subject to stock availability
