Refund and Returns Policy

Welcome to the official Refund and Returns Policy for LDR Engines and Gearboxes PTY LTD. This policy outlines the procedures, conditions, and customer responsibilities regarding refunds, returns, and exchanges for engines, gearboxes, and related parts purchased from ldrpretoria.co.za.

Customer Responsibilities

  • All engines must be installed by a qualified and RMI-registered mechanic.
  • Use new oil, filters, thermostats, spark plugs, and coolant during installation.
  • Flush radiators and inspect/replace water pipes, water pumps, seals, and gaskets.
  • Replace timing belts (cam belt engines) before installation and ensure correct timing.
  • Confirm compatibility and application before installation.
  • Do not strip engines or gearboxes without prior approval — this voids warranty.

Standard Warranty

  • Engines & Gearboxes: 3-month unlimited km warranty (internal components only)
  • Turbos: 7-day warranty
  • Used Manual Gearboxes: 3 months (internal parts only)
  • Used Automatic Gearboxes: 2 months (internal parts only)
  • No warranty on accessories (manifolds, water pumps, sensors, etc.)

Exclusions (Not Covered Under Warranty)

  • Oil leaks, overheating, or head gasket failure
  • Incorrect timing, broken belts, bent valves
  • Improper installation or poor maintenance
  • External damage (collisions, fire, misuse, modifications)
  • Electrical faults or vehicle-related malfunctions
  • Aftermarket software use or racing
  • Courier/delivery, labor, towing, downtime, rentals, insurance claims

Return Policy (30 Days)

Customers may return most eligible products within 30 days of delivery for a refund or exchange, provided all conditions below are met:

  • The product must be in new or slightly used condition and returned with the original invoice.
  • All returns must be pre-approved and are subject to inspection by management.
  • Returns can be made either in-store or by courier at the customer’s cost.
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping costs.
  • 15% handling/restocking fee applies for correctly supplied goods returned.
  • Delivery, courier, and labor costs are non-refundable.

Exchange Policy

  • Defective engines may be exchanged within 7 days of delivery, subject to stock availability and inspection.
  • All exchanges must be approved by management before processing.

Refunds

  • Refunds are processed to the original payment method used at purchase.
  • 3% card handling fee applies to refunds made via card.
  • Refunds are processed within 7–14 business days after approval.

Non-Returnable Items

  • Deposits are non-refundable.
  • No returns on accessories (manifolds, sensors, pumps, etc.).
  • No refunds for stripped, modified, or improperly installed units.

Final Notice

We strive to supply quality used engines and gearboxes. However, it remains the customer’s responsibility to ensure professional installation and maintenance.
